Making an appointment with Papillon Bodywork is easy. You can follow the Schedule Online link from my website to book online (this is the best way), email me, call or text. For first time clients: online booking is limited to one appointment until you come in for that appointment. We need to make sure we're a good fit.
• Appointment bookings may be made online or by contacting me directly. Appointments may be made up to 2 months in advance.
• Make sure you have read all of my policies for appointment before scheduling. (see below)
• A credit card is required to hold your appointment. Your card will not be charged unless you want to use it for payment at the time of your appointment or in case of cancels or no shows.
• If you are not seeing the appointment time you are looking for on my online schedule please contact me, and if it is for a 2 hour session look online with a 90 minute session selected and then contact me, my hours are slightly flexible.
• Once you have scheduled please check your email, you will receive a booking confirmation email, reminder email and confirmation text (if you opt in). -
My beautiful massage studio is located in a peaceful setting in Tanque Verde near the intersection of Bear Canyon and Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson, AZ 85749. This private, residential studio has a separate entrance and dedicated bathroom. The exact studio location will be given by text or email 2 days before your appointment.

When you schedule with me you agree to abide by these policies, thanks!
• Cancellations must be made by contacting me directly.
• In order to moderate cancellations you will be given two complimentary cancellations in a 12 month period. After these each cancellation will have a non-refundable 25% cancellation fee. Payment will be collected at the time of the cancellation either with Zelle, Venmo or your card on file. The 12 month period starts on the date of the first cancellation (not the first appointment cancellation date). This policy is not about when you cancel, but the frequency in which you cancel. If cancellations are made after the 48 hour window they will be in line with late cancel policies stated below.
• To reschedule an appointment you will need to cancel by contacting me directly, and then book a new appointment either with me or through my online scheduler. If you are able to reschedule for the same week you will not be responsible for the cancellation charge.
• Please reschedule if you are sick or if you have been ill in the 5 days before your appointment. If you arrive to your appointment sick you will be sent home and charged according to the late cancel policies below.
• For cancellations under 48 hours and no shows the charges are: 1st time - 50%, 2nd time - 100%, 3 time - 100% and no more appointments
• Arrivals more than 20 minutes after the appointment start time will be rescheduled and charged accordingly.
• Papillon Bodywork reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.
• There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the premises. -
We will do a thorough health intake together at the beginning of your first appointment. This allows me to get to know you and your needs and allows us a personal conversation in which you can ask questions and express any concerns you might have about receiving Thai massage. If you have any health issues you would like to discuss before you book an appointment don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Please wear or bring clean, loose, comfortable fitting clothing as you will remain clothed for your session (no shorts please, loose pants are best). Make sure your clothes are something you don’t mind getting a little oily or stained as I often use liniments/balms and Thai herbal compresses for treatments. If you forget your clothes I have some here for you to borrow during your appointment.

60 minutes - for spot specific treatment, meaning only one issue needs focus
90 minutes - for in depth spot specific work, when 2 or 3 things need attention, or for more general work
2 hours - a great length of time for a little bit of everything and highly recommended
3 hours - (for existing clients only) the best way to therapeutically address everything
• you can work abdominal massage into any treatment session, or it can be a stand alone appointment •

Thai massage has a reputation for being very painful, but it need not be that way. A skilled therapist will intuitively know the therapeutic pressure your body needs to therapeutic benefit, will be able to adapt throughout the session as needed, and will always welcome your feedback and communication during and after a treatment. In Thai they call the good pain that you can feel during a massage “jep dee”, so while there might be some “good pain”, or what I would call therapeutic pain, it should never pass your threshold of tolerance.
Thai massage is not lazy man’s yoga! Applied passive stretching is beautiful and often the most photogenic thing about Thai bodywork, so due to the prevalence of stretching photos on social media it has become synonymous with Thai massage. While stretching can be a beneficial part of a Thai massage treatment, in some sessions stretching isn’t applied at all if it is contraindicated (pregnancy, hyper mobility, etc.) Traditional Thai massage includes many, many more techniques than stretching alone.
Few people know that Thailand has its own system of yoga and self-care called Reusi Dat Ton (Hermit yoga). RDT originated in India like Hindu Hatha yoga did, but became its own system as it moved into Nepal and Tibet and eventually made its way to Thailand via Burma with the spread of Buddhism. Many of the stretches and techniques used in Thai massage come from Reusi Dat Ton. You can read more about it here. -

These days most LMT’s highly prefer being called massage therapists, not masseuse or masseur due to the old fashioned connotations around these words. Massage therapists are licensed, formally trained professionals who adhere to established ethical standards and codes of conduct. Massage therapists are not prostitutes and any suggestion of such during a session is punishable by law.
